Lead Trainer and Owner
Becky pictured with her dog "Piper" Kellner's Charmed One CD, RN, CGC. I have been a vet tech for over 7 years. I taught obedience at Petco for a year and have been a member of Kanine Kollege for several years. My love for dogs began with my Stepmother's Cocker Spaniel "Bailey" as a young child. I trained her with what I learned from animal planet when I saw her on the weekends. Due to living in an apartment the first 17 years of my life, I was unable to have a dog of my own. That did not stop me from learning the trait of dog training. My mother's Aunt who breeds Vizslas offered to let me train one of her puppies. Then I found my true passion. I started to attend Kanine Kollege with her Vizsla "Erik" when I was a pre-teen. When I was 17 my family and i moved to a house and immediately went and got a puppy. "Theo" was a goofy Boxer. I immediately started classes with him, graduating from several different classes from a few different dog training schools. I then attended Kanine Kollege on a weekly basis. Theo recieved his Canine Good Citizen and started agility. Due to 2 torn ACL's and several Genetic medical problems, Theo's career was cut short. That is when "Piper" came into the picture. She is a female Boxer I purchased when Theo was 10 months old. She, like Theo started obedience as soon as I got her. She started at Kanine Kollege and never stopped. She has her Canine Good Citizen, Companian Dog and Rally Novice. I then started training for her Companion Dog Excellents at another facility. She now knows all the skills but unfortunately developed too much aniexty in the ring. She is now on sabbatical from obedience and doing Agility for a while to build up her confidence. My new addtion is a sable male German working line German Shepherd Dog named Daegan. He will be competing in AKC obedience eventually but will be starting out with Schutzhund, Agility and German conformation. I am very fortunate to have been trained by Gail, my Mentor and friend. Dogs are my life. My dogs go almost everywhere with me, I do not like being without them. I am fortunate to be able to bring them to work with me everyday. Some things I enjoy outside of training and being a vet tech are hiking with my dogs and photography.

Gail with Jeter
My love of dogs began at an early age. Joining 4-H with a mixed breed, Queenie, when I as 13 and continued through high school. I successfully trained her to the highest level of obedience that being Utility. In 4-H I learned sportsmanship, obedience training and general knowledge of dogs. After college I obtained a German Shepherd, Candy, on which I train to an American and Canadian Companion Dog Title. I then returned the education I received in 4-H to be a 4-H leader for 5 years until my marriage and moved to Connecticut
I worked with many of the top trainers in my area and apprenticed with Roger Gallant, who originally owned Kanine Kollege. During my years of training with many Doberman Pinschers, I was successful in obtaining over 14 CD, 3 Canadian CD, 3 CDX, 1 Canadian CDX, two high in trials and many Champion Doberman Pinschers.
I purchased Kanine Kollege over 15 years ago and successfully have trained handlers with their dogs to many obedience titles and given many owners well behaved house dogs.
Due to health reasons, it was time to turn Kanine Kollege over to the next generation of dog lovers. Becky Kellner was one of my students and is able to take over the "leash".
Currently I have four Dobermans, of which Carrie and Jeter are in training for the CDX title.
You will see me at class most of the time helping out with the more difficult training areas and those starting out.
I also own and operate Bark Inn Kennels, in Stafford Springs, CT. Visit my web @ www.Barkinn.com.
Dog ownership is a truly wonderful experience when the dog and you become a team. Whether it is for just the home environment or the thrill of competition.
